Stellenberg is an iconic house in Cape Town, a miraculously unspoilt and classic example of the Cape Dutch style. Built in 1685, it is still a gracious family home set in spacious grounds which feature a series of gardens which have become world renowned. Franchesca has worked with the owners since 2001 designing sections of the gardens to complement the historical house and to take the gardens into the 21st century with relevance.
In Franchesca’s candid words the journey that the garden has taken over the years is revealed, the idiosyncrasies and secrets of the garden discussed and insights offered into the specific challenges and everyday care of a garden of this calibre.
